Hindi ko alam kung gusto kong mapa happy ni bimb because malapit na kong mag birthday (i usually show him pics before i post because my bunso is conservative)... he told me “mama, even men will find you breathtaking.” (clarification: we’re very aware my solid followers are women & the LGBT community- and of course i’m super grateful, so bimb knew that what he said was a compliment. ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🥰)
earlier tonight would’ve been perfect if willie’s number 1 fan, kuya josh, didn’t have such a bad cough & nakasama sya when we visited the rehearsals of Wowowin for tomorrow’s LIVE birthday broadcast... it was our family of 3’s pleasure to have found a gift for the man who has everything money can buy- a chance to support his birthday outreach for those suffering loss of homes & livelihood because of Taal’s eruption. The best FRIENDSHIPS are the ones you never expected, never even imagined, yet the effort you give to each other feels light because it’s sincerely reciprocal. Happy Birthday, Willie. May God continue to bless you so you may continue blessing many more lives with your generous heart.
Happy Birthday Mom... you would be so proud of kuya josh & bimb... Kuya got your generosity & kindhearted ways, and Bimb got your level headedness & mature sense of responsibility... the year that went by, i know i stressed you much more than a person in heaven deserves and i’m so sorry. When it was one crisis after another & i felt so lost, i realized how much you took on- you’d set everything aside for us, your children, because that’s just how you were, when life was being harsh or cruel, or whenever i lost my way, you’d be there to help me set things right & get back on my feet- and you were so effortlessly selfless... when i had my emergency caesarean for Bimb & then later on when i hemorrhaged & needed another operation, i refused until you were in the hospital- because with you around i knew everything would turn out okay. i went through nonstop tests & procedures on my own last year up to several days ago, but each time my heart would silently say- mom, 𝒊𝒌𝒂𝒘 𝒏𝒂 𝒂𝒏𝒈 𝒃𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒍𝒂... and that’s always been enough to reassure me. You are so terribly missed but my love for you continues to grow because truly everything that’s good in me, is because i had you for my MOM.
#latepost this was our meal on the plane served before arriving home... 2020- i shall learn how to present food i cook this beautifully. in case you’re wondering, the hot portion tasted like sukiyaki & the rice beside was wrapped in lovely paper. i supervised the cooking of a new adobo recipe earlier, my grip is still weak-BUT i was thinking of developing a nice individual mini boodle, but w/ each Pinoy dish symmetrically arranged. i want what we cook at home to be both yummy & eye catching. #newgoals (Good Night, napanindigan so far for this 2020, fast asleep by 10:30-11 PM & awake by 8 AM.)
Thank God i’m reading this book... Part of having several autoimmune conditions is knowing some others may now be dormant, but they can “wake up” and it’s reasonable to avoid challenging your immune system and closely monitoring numbers... i won’t bore you, will summarize. i had inflammation in my right hand, coughed badly for 3 straight weeks; had blood tests last night. 4th pic in this carousel was my mindset today- i told myself if my tests showed positive, early detection was still my friend... results i got this afternoon were a reason to be grateful, because my results in November are still the same this January. i still need to battle anemia, control my thyroid issues (explanation for my weight loss), and other stuff (some hereditary, others environmental) BUT a positive attitude is so beneficial to wellness. i may not be healthier, but i’m not worse. My doctor gave additional medicines & immunity boosting supplements, but she also gave the go signal to honor a commitment on Thursday & go back to work on Friday... i’ve stopped asking why, but rather THANK YOU because each new day is a blessing... and a good friend’s birthday on monday is a chance to help his outreach for those still displaced in Batangas. There’s good in this world, we should never get tired of finding it.#lovelovelove
Let’s continue praying for all the living in the vicinity of Taal- residents in Batangas, Cavite, and Laguna; the LGUs in those areas- from the governors & vice governors, members of Congress, mayors, board members, councilors, barangay officials, and all working for LGUs; for the government’s first responders, rescue workers, brave members of the AFP & PNP, and all working for the DSWD and DOH; all who will suffer from displacement & loss of livelihood; all our countrymen facing bad health in the coming weeks because ash fall can cause serious harm to the respiratory system, skin, and vision; and for the Holy Spirit’s strength & guidance for all our doctors, nurses, health center, and hospital workers. Finally met @iamr2alonte last night (our connection? @rbchanco is his manager & RB isn’t just my makeup artist BUT 1 of my most trusted friends.) In fact, RB is now the guardian of kuya josh & bimb, because they’re flying home this morning... unfortunately @bincailuntayao & are coughing, have sore throats, and body aches & i lost my voice... praying we both didn’t get the flu since it’s flu season here in the 🇺🇸, so we go home in a few days.. We couldn’t risk me taking the long flight home because my autoimmune conditions have weakened my immune system, to simplify my overproduction of antibodies cause them to end up attacking my healthy cells kaya mahirap talagang magkasakit... my 2 are really maturing because they were looking forward to travel w/ just RB. kuya josh is very excited to visit his tito Noy & bring his pasalubong- love nya talaga si tito Noy because he saved his shopping allowance to buy what he knew to be tito Noy’s favorite snacks from here... bimb wanted to go home because he didn’t want to miss school & kuya josh said he wanted to keep tito Noy company. As a mom, it’s heartwarming that my sons know what should really matter in life at this stage of their lives- family & education.
what a BLESSING. we attended the 4 PM Saturday service @saddlebacklf and listened intently to @pastorrickwarren’s inspiring preaching. i had read The Purpose of Christmas again during the Advent Season & when i found out his main campus was just 20 minutes from us, i couldn’t pass up the opportunity to personally attend worship. #thepurposedrivenlife
