i’ve been told that my strength is inspiring. But the TRUTH is, what you see in me is a mere reflection of the selfless COURAGE my parents possessed. i know my Dad well enough that he will be smiling at this statement- some have mistakenly claimed to understand my psychological makeup because i mostly grew up without a father figure present in my life. Obviously hindi nila ama ang nag-iisang Ninoy Aquino because he was larger than life; in the 3 years and 3 months of being blessed to have a normal home life in the US, he gave me simple memories that i now know were EXTRAORDINARY because for me, his BUNSO, he did his best for us to get to know each other, to communicate openly, and he not only acknowledged but strengthened my confidence in my completeness as a person. There is no doubt my mom was wise enough to prepare me for life’s harsh realities, but my dad showed me that our hearts should DREAM because deep within our souls is the knowledge we wouldn’t have dared pursue something that God had not already predestined because in the end it will all be a matter of FATE & FAITH.
